I'm Sybil F. Stershic, a marketing and organizational advisor who specializes in employee-customer care. My professional passion is internal marketing - taking care of employees so they can take care of customers. This concept is applicable to all for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
I've been in the workforce for more than 30 years. Yet I continue to be amazed at how clueless some managers are - particularly those who say they're focused on creating a positive customer experience but fail to engage their employees in the process. Managers need to remember that customer relations mirror employee relations: the way your employees feel is the way your customers will feel. And if your employees don't feel valued, neither will your customers!
My purpose in writing this blog is to share what I've learned about internal marketing & internal communications, and I invite you to share your experience and feedback (post a comment and/or e-mail me). Together we can create a better workplace committed to improving both employee- and customer satisfaction.
Besides internal marketing, I'm passionate about:
- My husband & soul mate, Michael, and our son, Jason
- My family, friends, clients, and colleagues
- Having a sense of humor and appreciation for "whimsy" based on my love of old Looney Tunes cartoons, Dr. Seuss, the Marx Brothers, and classic comedies (Animal House, Stripes, Trading Places, Meatballs, etc.)
- Professional and leadership development - I was privileged to serve as Chair of the American Marketing Association and feel strongly about giving back to the profession and association.
- Cold "calcium" - especially coffee ice cream and yogurt!
